A DW618 upgrade starts with the exact motor.

Separate the DW618 from compact DeWalt routers, then account for plate support and adapter parts.

Documentation-based planning guidance. No hands-on testing claimed.

The brand name is not the compatibility key

Write down DW618 from the motor label. Do not select this entry just because the tool is yellow or its kit name includes a similar number. Compact routers, plunge-only arrangements and removable fixed-base motors present different mounting problems. A listing photograph is a poor substitute for a model plate.

The compact DCW600 is a useful example of why this matters: Kreg’s own answer says it is too small for PRS5000. That exclusion is not a judgment about the router’s quality; it identifies a different mounting class. Our selector keeps those identities separate.

What the reviewed documents establish

Kreg’s PRS5000 chart names the 618, and JessEm’s Mast-R-Lift II list names it too. Rockler names DW618 in both Pro Lift manuals, with adapter collar 57022 required. INCRA names DW618 for the imperial Mast-R-Lift II variant. These are model-specific motor relationships, not endorsements of a complete table setup.

Read the required-parts section of a selector result even if its motor status looks promising. A missing collar is a real gap in the purchase plan. Likewise, a documented motor relationship paired with an unknown table relationship remains unknown overall.

Keep the table decision separate

Record the table model and inspect how its existing plate is held up. The lift must have support at the correct height, space for its underside mechanism and an appropriate fastening arrangement. A flush-looking top photograph will not show all of that.

On a Kreg table, PRS5000 has direct brand documentation. For an INCRA lift on a Kreg construction without a rabbeted ledge, INCRA specifies a CleanSweep Table Adapter. That note belongs to the INCRA edition. It cannot silently approve a regular JessEm 02120 even though the product names sound closely related.

Make an actionable shopping note

Your note should include the DW618 motor identity, exact lift SKU, table model, required adapter or support pieces and the manual used to confirm the combination. Leave unresolved items marked unresolved. If a seller offers several plate widths, verify the actual selected variant before checkout.

Compare the complete list rather than a headline lift price. Check current contents and availability at the retailer; an optional ring-kit bundle can change the offer without changing the underlying fit. None of these documentation checks is a hands-on evaluation of adjustment feel or durability.
